Aide chat in Shopify checkout now behaves as a support channel only: it waits for the buyer to open it, never promotes products on its own, and fits inside Shopify's checkout chat limits. The chat on the thank-you page works as before.
How it behaves
- Opening: at checkout the chat opens only when the buyer clicks the launcher. Nothing else
opens it: not a proactive message, not a page script calling
Aide('open'), not a setting. - Proactive messages: campaigns never show at checkout, whatever pages they target.
- Recommendations: at checkout Aide recommends products only when the buyer asks for them. Cart pairings and "Pairs well with" suggestions are left out there.
- Welcome screen: at checkout it shows the default greeting with no suggested starters, so no promotion or offer appears before the buyer asks for help.
- Size: the chat stays within Shopify's size limits, so its header and close button are always visible, including on phones. Closed, it's just the launcher, pinned to the right.
- Your settings: none of your widget settings switch any of this back on at checkout.
- Thank-you page: unchanged. Campaigns, starters and recommendations work there as on your store.
