Aide runs an MCP server. From a chat you can search your knowledge, look up a customer's orders, read and answer conversations, and propose refunds, all as yourself and within what your role allows in Aide.

What you can do from a chat
- Search and read your knowledge, products, topics and macros.
- Look up Shopify orders, check return eligibility, and see order changes waiting for approval.
- Find conversations with the same filters as your inbox, and read their messages, Aide's draft, and the customer's orders and details.
- Add an internal note, update a conversation, and reply to the customer.
- Propose a refund or cancellation, and approve or reject order changes within your limits.
- Owners and admins: read the analytics overview and satisfaction figures.
Connect Claude
Claude on the web, desktop and mobile.
- In Claude, open Customize > Connectors and add a custom connector (Add, then Custom, then Web). On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds it under Organization settings > Connectors, and each person then connects.
- Name it Aide, paste
https://app-api.aide.app/mcpand continue. - Under Authentication, choose Sign in now. If Claude asks how it should identify itself, choose Register automatically.
- Claude opens Aide. Sign in, check the workspace and what Claude may do (read only, or read and act), and approve. Nothing is shared if you decline.
- In a chat, turn Aide on from the + menu under Connectors and ask, for example, "Which open conversations are about late deliveries this week?"
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Aide, enter
https://app-api.aide.app/mcpunder Connection and choose OAuth for authentication. Tick "I understand and want to continue", then select Create as a plugin. - Sign in to Aide and approve.
- Install the plugin, then type @ in a chat and choose Aide. ChatGPT can also search and cite your Aide knowledge in its answers and in deep research.
On ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, workspace admins decide who may add custom MCP servers, and OpenAI lists actions that change things as a beta on those plans.
Claude Code and apps on your computer
Run claude mcp add --transport http aide https://app-api.aide.app/mcp, then open /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Aide in the browser.
Scripts and your own agents
Send Authorization: Bearer aide_live_… with a workspace API key from Settings > Developers. A read key is enough for the 15 tools keys can use. Keys act as the workspace, not a person, so they never see conversations.
Other apps that sign in the same way will be added once checked.

What the app may do
- Read only, or read and act. You choose when you approve.
- As you, within your role. Everything is recorded as you. Agents don't see analytics. Refunds above your approval limit wait for an admin, as they do in the inbox.
- Replies and refunds ask first. Tools that message a customer or change an order are marked, so Claude and ChatGPT ask you to confirm before using them, unless you set that tool to always allow. Claude's Research can use tools without asking; connect read only if you use it.
- Disconnect any time. Settings > Developers lists connected apps and when each was last used, and Disconnect cuts an app off at once. Apps stay signed in for 30 days after they were last used; leaving the workspace disconnects them.
Your data
Aide sends the app only what the tools it calls return: a conversation's messages, an order, a knowledge article. What the app does with that is governed by the app's own terms and your settings with its maker. How Aide itself is hosted: Security.
Plans and limits
Refunds, cancellations and approvals work on every plan, including Free, within your role and approval limits. Up to 300 MCP messages a minute per sign-in or key. Each tool call also counts against your API limits (600 a minute per sign-in or key, 3,000 a minute per workspace), and knowledge searches share the workspace's 60 a minute.

MCP Streamable HTTP at POST /mcp: stateless, JSON responses only, for clients on protocol revision 2025-06-18 (and earlier) or 2026-07-28. OAuth 2.1: protected-resource metadata at https://app-api.aide.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp, authorization-server metadata at https://app-api.aide.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server, dynamic client registration at POST /oauth/register, authorization code with PKCE S256, scopes aide:read and aide:write, access tokens for an hour, refresh tokens that rotate and last 30 days, and RFC 7009 revocation. Redirects allowed today: the callbacks of Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, Cursor, Perplexity, Devin and Gemini Enterprise, and http loopback. Every tool is one operation of the public API, with the same permissions and limits.
Frequently asked questions
Can Claude reply to a customer without asking me?
Replies and order changes are marked as such, so Claude and ChatGPT ask you to confirm before using them, unless you have set that tool to always allow. Claude's Research can use tools without asking, so connect Aide read only if you use Research. A reply goes to the customer and cannot be unsent; ask for a note instead to keep something internal.
What can a teammate with the Agent role do?
What their role allows in Aide: search knowledge, look up orders, read and answer conversations, add notes and propose order changes. Agents don't see analytics, and refunds above their approval limit wait for an admin.
Can I refund or cancel orders from Claude or ChatGPT on the Free plan?

How do I disconnect an app?
In Aide, open Settings > Developers. It lists the apps you have connected and when each was last used, and Disconnect cuts an app off at once. Leaving the workspace disconnects your apps too.
Does Aide work with Cursor or VS Code?
Not yet. They will be added once their sign-in is checked.
