A scenario can now add a tag to the customer's Shopify order, such as "Do not import" so your fulfilment app skips an order the customer asked to hold. Pick Tag the Shopify order in the scenario's actions and type the tag.
How it behaves
- Which order: the customer's newest order, the same one the scenario's Shopify conditions checked, once Aide knows the customer is who they say they are (a verified chat shopper, a linked order, or a helpdesk's trusted sender). For anyone else nothing is tagged. If the newest order is cancelled, nothing is tagged. (Until 2026-10-17: the newest order that wasn't cancelled.)
- When the tag can't be added: an internal note in Aide, and in the helpdesk on a connected helpdesk, says which order wasn't tagged and why: the customer isn't verified, has no order, the newest order is cancelled, the store connection is off, Shopify refused (with its reason), or Shopify couldn't be reached. When the scenario also sends a reply on a connected helpdesk, the tag is added before the reply: if it can't be, the reply and the scenario's other actions don't run, and the conversation goes back to your team.
- No approval step: the tag is added at once, whatever the topic's AI level. Putting the action in a scenario is the decision, as with the scenario's other actions. (Until 2026-10-16 it waited for a teammate's approval unless the topic was fully agentic.)
- Existing tags stay: the tag is added next to the order's other tags; nothing is replaced.
- Once per conversation: like the scenario's other actions, the tag is added once per conversation, even when the scenario matches again.
- Where you see it: the order's history in the conversation and the agent panel shows "Order tag: Do not import". Add an internal comment action to the scenario if your team should see it in the helpdesk too. When the tag can't be added, the note above is posted automatically.
- In a shadow rollout a helpdesk conversation's order is not tagged; the scenario's activity in Aide says it was skipped.
- Rules for the tag: up to 40 characters, no commas (Shopify reads a comma as two tags), and up to five order tags per scenario.
- When Shopify refuses (the order was deleted, the store disconnected), the action shows as failed with Shopify's reason, and the note above says so.
For developers
- Order actions have a new kind,
tag, and atagsfield (the tags atagaction adds;nullfor other kinds) on/v1order actions and theorder_action.appliedwebhook. - Scenario actions accept the type
TAG_ORDER, whosevalueis the tag.
