Help articles opened in the chat widget now read like a help centre page: compact headings, clear spacing between paragraphs and lists, and a plain "Updated 2 days ago" in the shopper's language instead of a raw date. The widget's menu also drops two items that didn't do anything yet.
How it behaves
- Article date: "Updated today", "Updated yesterday", "Updated 2 weeks ago", in the shopper's language. It counts from the article's last update in your help centre, or from when Aide last imported it.
- Article layout: headings, numbered and bulleted lists, code, links, images and tables keep their structure in the narrow panel, in light and dark mode. A table wider than the panel scrolls sideways instead of stretching it.
- Menu: "Email me this conversation" and "Privacy and memory" are no longer in the widget's menu; neither did anything when picked. The menu keeps "Talk to a person", "Language" (with more than one language on) and "End conversation". Your privacy policy link, when set, still shows at the start of each chat.
- Your wording: the date line can be changed in the widget's Language settings, under Help articles. The two removed menu items no longer appear in those settings.
Also in this change
- The labels of the small buttons in the chat, such as "Change" after a shopper leaves their email and the suggested replies, are centred.
For developers
- Widget SDK: new label key
articles.updated(Updated {when}), in English, French and German.menu.emailTranscriptandmenu.privacystay in the label catalog; the widget no longer shows them.
