Aide confirms the shopper, finds the order and checks what can still be refunded. Then it says exactly what it will refund and waits for a yes.

Sorry it arrived broken. I can refund the $42.00 you paid for the mug to your original payment method. Shall I send the request to our team?

How it works

You decide what runs on its own

Refunds are where most teams draw the line on AI. Aide keeps that line where you put it.

Limits you set

An amount per refund, a share of the order and a 24-hour total. All start on the cautious side.

A teammate approves

The refund lands on the order as Awaiting approval. Approve or reject it, and Aide tells the shopper.

Never more than allowed

Every refund is capped at what the order can still refund, counting earlier refunds and store credit.

The numbers match Shopify's

Aide reads each order's current total and what has already been refunded, store credit included. A full refund returns what is left. Removing an unshipped item refunds only what the shopper overpaid. If Shopify declines a refund, Aide tells the shopper, and a reply retried after its refund already ran reports that refund instead of sending a second one.

What your team sees

Every refund Aide offers, runs or sends for approval shows in the order's action history, marked as Aide's. Approve and Reject sit on the order in Aide's inbox and in the Aide panel inside Zendesk and Front. A rejection reason stays internal, and each approval is kept in the audit log for two years.

Two more controls

On a topic set to Drafts, a refund the shopper confirmed goes to your team even when it is under every limit. Switch refunds off for Aide and it passes refund requests to a teammate instead. The same approval flow covers cancellations.

Frequently asked questions

Aide can. It offers a refund in chat or by email to a shopper who has proved the order is theirs, and the refund runs in Shopify once it is approved. By default a teammate approves every refund Aide offers.

You don't have to do anything. Aide's limit per refund starts at 0, so every refund it offers waits for a teammate. Raise the limit only when you want small refunds to go through on their own, and refunds above any of your limits still wait.

A partial refund above what is left is refused before anything reaches Shopify, with the amount that can still be refunded. A full refund refunds what the customer paid, less every earlier refund.

The teammates who can approve it get an Order action needs approval notification, in the app and by email outside working hours by default. It never goes to the teammate who asked.
