Get the exact item, size and quantity, check it is in stock, and tell them how they will pay for it.Updated · By Ziyad Basheer

Short answer

An item can usually be added to an order that has not shipped, with the extra cost paid through an invoice or a second order. Collect the exact product, variant and quantity, check stock, and confirm only once the order is updated.

Happy to add it while order.name is still being packed. Which product, which size or colour, and how many? Once I have that, our team adds it and sends you a link for the extra cost.

Add to order.name: product, variant, quantity. In stock: yes / no. Fulfillment: order.fulfillment_status. Add it in the Shopify order editor, send the invoice for the balance, and keep it from shipping until paid.

Frequently asked questions

Often yes, until the order ships. The store adds it and asks you to pay the difference, or suggests a second order that ships alongside the first.

In Shopify, editing an order to a higher total lets the store send an invoice for the balance. The customer pays from the link in that email.

No. Aide collects the product, size and quantity and checks stock, then your team edits the order.

It is simpler when the warehouse can pack both together. Say whether shipping on the second order is refunded, so the customer knows before they buy.

Send this with the order filled in
