Teammates can now send a customer free replacements for items from one of their Shopify orders, straight from the conversation's Orders section. Aide creates a new order for those items at no charge, shipped to the original order's address, so the warehouse fulfils it like any other order.
How it behaves
- Choosing what to send: open the order's menu, choose "Send a free replacement…", tick the items and set how many of each. You can resend up to the quantity on the original order.
- The new order: Shopify gets a new order for the chosen items with a 100% discount and free
shipping, tagged
aide-reship, with a note naming the original order and any staff note you add. The action history shows the new order's number. - Customer email: by default the customer gets the store's order confirmation for the new order. Untick "Email the customer from the store" to send it quietly; the new order is still linked to the customer.
- Approval: a replacement counts toward your workspace's refund approval threshold by the value of the items sent. Agents who send replacements worth more than the threshold need an Owner or Admin to approve them first. Any teammate can also send one for approval on purpose.
- When it isn't available: cancelled orders and orders without a shipping address can't be reshipped. An item whose product was deleted from the store can't be sent again.
- Aide in chat: Aide does not offer replacements to shoppers; this is a teammate action only.
Also in this change
- Re-approve the Shopify app: sending replacements needs a new Shopify permission (draft orders). Merchants must re-approve the Aide app's permissions in Shopify before they can use it. Until they do, a replacement fails with Shopify's permission error.
