When a customer asks your store for their data, or to be forgotten, Aide now does its part automatically: it emails you their data, or deletes it.
How it behaves
- Data requests: when Shopify sends a customer data request, every owner of your Aide workspace gets an email with a JSON export of what Aide holds about that customer: their profile, synced orders, conversations with their messages (never your internal notes), collected field values, ratings and chat visits. Files are listed by name and a private download link that works for 30 days, Shopify's window for answering the request.
- Erasure requests: when Shopify asks to redact a customer, Aide deletes their conversations, messages, files, field values, ratings, chat visitors and visits, and the orders Shopify lists. Conversations that belong to other customers are kept.
- Billing: your usage counts are kept; only the link to the deleted conversation is removed.
- Repeats: a request that arrives twice does nothing the second time.
