When your Shopify store is connected, importing your website now brings in the pages that explain your business (your story, policies, guides, blog posts) and skips the product, collection, cart and account pages. Your products already come from Shopify, kept up to date with price, stock and variants, so a scraped copy of each product page only repeated them with whatever price it had on the day of the import.
How it behaves
- Importing a website with Shopify connected: product pages (
/products/…), collection pages (/collections/…), the cart, account and search pages are not fetched, also under a market prefix such as/en-ca/. They don't count towards the import's page limit, so more of the pages that matter fit in it. - Importing a website without Shopify: every page is imported, as before.
- Help centres: imported as before.
- What Aide reads when it answers: each product once, from Shopify, with its product card, instead of next to an older scraped copy of the same page.
Also in this change
- Accounts moving over from the previous version of Aide no longer bring their old product imports (the "Products from …" knowledge sets) when their Shopify store comes along: Shopify's product sync replaces them.
- Accounts already moved over had those copies, and website product pages, removed from Knowledge.
