Signing up for Aide now takes three short steps and starts you on the Free plan, with no card. Aide Chat comes connected to your AI agent, so turning the agent on is all it takes for it to answer on your website, and Home walks you through the few steps left until it is live.
How it behaves
- Sign-up: three steps: your company and website, what you want to use Aide for, and your team. There's no plan to pick: you start on Free (150 AI replies a month, no card) and can upgrade or start a paid trial any time. The last step says which plan each choice needs, for example "Connecting Gorgias needs Pro or above".
- Your website: paste any page of your site, even a product page with tracking parameters;
Aide keeps the site itself (
https://acme.com). Phone number and job title are no longer asked. - Installing from the Gorgias App Store: Gorgias is already selected when you reach the setup steps.
- Aide Chat comes connected to your AI agent: a new workspace's Aide Chat is assigned to its starter agent, so once you turn the agent on it answers visitors on your website with no other setting to find. Turning on an agent that doesn't answer anywhere yet also assigns it to any Aide Chat that has no agent; Aide Chat already answered by an agent keeps it.
- Workspaces created before this change whose Aide Chat has no agent are assigned their only agent, if they have exactly one.
- When the AI agent isn't answering: the Aide Chat page and the empty inbox say "Aide AI Agent isn't answering on your website yet", with a "Turn on AI replies" button, instead of showing the chat as live.
- Home: next steps follow your setup and disappear once done: "Add Aide Chat to your website", "Try your AI agent" (with how many pages Aide learned from your site), and "Turn on Aide AI Agent". The website import shows its progress, and why it failed if it did. "Add teammates" shows only while you're the only member. Until your first conversation arrives, next steps sit above the numbers.
- Your agent speaks for your business: until you name your company, the AI agent says "our team" rather than "Sam's workspace". Renaming your company, or your Shopify store's name, updates the agent's greeting and instructions as long as you haven't edited them yourself.
- Suggested questions fit your business: if you don't sell online, the agent's starter suggestions are general questions instead of order status, returns and shipping.
- Connecting Shopify: after connecting, you land on Aide Chat's installation steps for your store, starting with the theme snippet.
- Integrations that aren't ready yet: they show "Coming soon" with a link to book a call, instead of a Connect button that ends in an error.
Also in this change
- Installing Gorgias on a plan without helpdesk connections offers the Pro trial instead of a billing error.
- The agent's Logs page and the command palette no longer point to the retired simulator.
