Changelog

Clearer first-run screens and a preview on every screen size

Every screen a new account opens now says what to do next and links to it, instead of an empty page or a page of zeros. Trying your AI agent works on a laptop too: the preview opens from a Preview button, and it says what the agent is answering from.

How it behaves

  • Preview on a laptop: on screens narrower than a large desktop, the AI agent page has a Preview button that opens the chat preview in a side panel. On a large desktop it stays beside the editor, as before. Try your AI agent on Home opens the agent page with the preview already open.
  • What the agent knows: the top of the preview says what it answers from: "Answering from 120 pages of acme.com", "Still reading acme.com (34 pages so far). Answers get better when it finishes.", or "No knowledge yet: add your website" with a link to Knowledge. When the website import failed, it says so and links to the source to fix it.
  • Whether the agent is answering: under the agent's name, a line says "Draft: not answering customers", "Paused: not answering customers", or where it is live, for example "Live on Website chat, support@acme.com". A deployed agent that isn't on any channel says so, with a link to choose where it answers.
  • Knowledge while the website is read: the agent's Content section shows the website being imported instead of "No knowledge yet".
  • A failed website import: the source's page offers Re-import right where it says the import failed.
  • Scenarios before anything is connected: you can build scenarios before connecting a helpdesk or adding Aide Chat. A banner says they start running once conversations come in, with links to connect a helpdesk or add Aide Chat.
  • Analytics before the first conversation: instead of a page of zeros, Analytics says it fills in once conversations arrive and links to connecting a helpdesk or adding Aide Chat (or to the inbox, when one is already connected). Filtering by channel or topic still shows the report.
  • Macros on a plan without helpdesk connectors: the macros Aide uses page says macros sync from Gorgias or Zendesk on Pro and offers the upgrade, instead of a Connect button that couldn't work.
  • Usage log: before the first AI reply, the log says what it will list and links to your AI agent. When filters hide every row, it offers Clear filters.
  • Integration activity: the activity page of an integration that isn't connected links to connecting it.

Also in this change

  • Topics explains what topics are for (sorting conversations for scenarios and reports) on its empty screens.
  • The AI agent view of the inbox, when empty, says the conversations the AI agent takes part in show up there, which also holds for a store using Aide Chat only.
  • Knowledge gaps, when there are none, says Aide looks every Monday at the questions customers asked that it couldn't answer, without assuming drafts or a help center.
  • Home gives one estimate for reading your website: "This takes a few minutes."
  • Home and the AI agent page check a running website import every 10 seconds instead of every 2; the Knowledge pages still follow it every 2 seconds.
