Aide now tells you, in the app and by email, when your trial ends, what Aide did during it, and what happens next, so the first charge is never a surprise. Plans given by Aide say when they end and let you choose a plan to continue.
How it behaves
- Two days before a trial ends: owners and admins get one email with the end date, how many replies and drafts Aide wrote, and the amount the card is charged (or, for Shopify billing, what goes on the Shopify bill), with a link to change or cancel. The banner turns to a warning: "Your Pro trial ends in 2 days. Your card is charged $149 on 21 Oct."
- A cancelled trial: the email and banner say the trial ends on its date and the account moves to Free, with a "Keep Pro" button. The Billing page no longer says the card will be charged.
- Starting a plan early: "Start plan now" asks first: "Start Pro now? Your trial ends today and your card is charged $149."
- During a trial, on Home: owners and admins see a card with the days left and how many of the trial's AI replies Aide wrote, with links to the agent's analytics and to the plan.
- In the sidebar: owners and admins on Free or a trial see how many of their AI replies they've used ("112 of 150 free AI replies"), with a link to upgrade or manage the plan.
- Trial allowance alerts: at 80% and 100% of a trial's AI replies, owners and admins get the same usage email paid plans get, worded for the trial.
- When a trial converts: owners and admins get an email that the plan has started.
- When a payment fails: owners and admins get one email when the grace period starts, with the date to update the card by. Retried payments don't send it again.
- Plans given by Aide: the banner and Billing page say "Your Pro access ends on 1 Nov. Choose a plan to keep Aide answering." Choosing a plan opens checkout, instead of buttons that couldn't work for a given plan.
Also in this change
- A cancelled trial that used more than the Free allowance no longer pauses AI replies the moment it moves to Free: Free usage counts from when the trial ended.
