Installing Aide Chat on your website now confirms itself: the Installation tab says "Seen on acme.com" as soon as the code loads on a page, instead of waiting for a visitor to open a chat. If Aide Chat is ever blocked on one of your sites, Aide tells you and lets you allow it in one click.
How it behaves
- After pasting the code: the Installation tab says "Waiting for your site" until the code loads on a real page of your site, then "Seen on acme.com 2 minutes ago". Your own computer, Aide's previews and Shopify's theme previews don't count.
- Step-by-step guides: pick where your site is built (WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Google Tag Manager, Shopify or any other site) and the tab shows that platform's steps, the plan it needs for custom code, and the code to paste.
- Someone else edits your site: "Email these steps to my developer" opens an email with the steps and the code, ready to send.
- Testing on a staging site first: Aide Chat locks itself to the first site it appears on. Your account's website is now allowed with it, so a test on staging no longer locks out your real site.
- A blocked site: when Aide Chat was refused on a site this week, Home and the Aide Chat page say "Aide Chat was blocked on shop.acme.com" with an Allow button. Allowing it takes effect on that site's next page load.
For developers
GET /v1/mehasflags.widgetBlockedOrigin:{ origin, lastSeenAt }for the newest site the widget refused in the last 7 days that is still not allowed, ornull.GET /widget/confignow records the widget's first site (widgetFirstSeenAt,widgetFirstSeenOriginon/v1/me), not only the first chat session.
