Your AI reply count now includes every customer message Aide wrote a reply or a draft for, sent or not, handed off or not. A handoff that carries Aide's draft for your team used to be left out of the count, though your team got a ready reply; it now counts like any other draft. Each customer message counts once.
How it behaves
- Aide sends a reply: one AI reply, as before.
- Aide leaves a draft for your team (an inbox where Aide drafts, a reply held for review, Always draft, a draft note or the Aide card's insert-draft macro): one AI reply, as before.
- Aide hands off with a draft: with Draft on handoff, the note that carries Aide's reply above the handoff summary now counts as one AI reply. So does a reply held for review that Aide hands back as a draft in your helpdesk, and an email that answers what Aide could above the handoff message.
- Aide hands off without writing anything for the customer: the handoff message or summary alone still doesn't count. Neither does a note saying Aide couldn't draft, a mention Aide answered without a draft, a turn that failed, a preview or a spam conversation.
- One customer message, one AI reply: a message that gets a draft and later a sent reply (after a teammate assigns the conversation to Aide, say) counts once. Retries never count twice.
- Conversations Aide only shadows while you move over from the previous Aide: nothing it writes there counts, as before.
- This cycle is recounted: the usage shown for the current billing cycle is recalculated under this rule, so it includes this cycle's handoff drafts. Earlier cycles are unchanged.
- Plan limits: these drafts count toward your included AI replies like any other draft. On plans that pause AI at the included replies, reaching them pauses replies and drafts, as before.
For developers
GET /v1/billingusage counts and the usage CSV export now include handoff drafts as billable rows (billable: true, noexcluded_reason). A handoff that wrote nothing for the customer keepsexcluded_reason: handoff.
