Guided setup for Zendesk, Front and Gorgias

Zendesk and Front now get the same guided setup page as Gorgias, and all three end by showing your first draft as it happens: the page waits for a ticket to reach Aide, says when it arrived, and links you to the draft in your helpdesk. You no longer connect a helpdesk and wonder whether anything is working.

How it behaves

  • Choosing Zendesk or Front at sign-up: you land on its setup page, like Gorgias: the Pro trial, connecting the helpdesk, teaching Aide your store, then where drafts appear. Home shows "Connect Zendesk" (or Front), then "Set up Zendesk", until drafts are on, and no longer suggests adding Aide Chat when you only came for helpdesk drafts.
  • Where drafts appear: an internal note (Front: internal comment) on every new ticket, the Aide app in the helpdesk's sidebar, or both. The choices come from what your connection allows.
  • The sidebar app: for Zendesk, the page links to the Zendesk Marketplace, where an admin installs Aide once. For Front, the plugin comes with the Front app you approved when connecting.
  • Your first draft: the last step says "Waiting for a ticket in Zendesk…", then "First ticket arrived 2 minutes ago", then "Aide wrote a draft" with a button to open your helpdesk. It updates as tickets arrive and when you come back to the tab. While nothing has arrived, it tells you to send a test email to your support address.
  • Upgrading from a setup or integration page: Stripe Checkout brings you back to the page you started from, and that page confirms the plan, instead of sending you to Billing.
  • Connecting Shopify during setup: you come back to the setup page with "Shopify connected. Aide's drafts can use your orders now."

Also in this change

  • Gmail starts safe: a newly connected Gmail mailbox answers only the address that connected it, so you can test before customers get replies. Set "Reply to" to Everyone in its email settings when you're ready. Mailboxes connected before keep their setting.
  • Home no longer shows "Importing your conversations" forever when Gmail is your only helpdesk, and its links no longer lead to missing help pages.
  • Clearer words for the safest rollout: "Watch only: Aide drafts in Aide, writes nothing to Zendesk" (or your helpdesk; "sends nothing" for email). The "Send replies" setting now says what On does: it sends for topics set to Fully automated and drafts the rest.

For developers

  • Checkout's returnTo also accepts setup_zendesk, setup_front and integration_{slug} for every integration in the catalog; setup_gorgias still works.
